EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT 

ENABLING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN 
National Minimum Standards for ECD center was developed by the GoN of Nepal in 2010 to ensure uniformity in the management and operation of the different types of ECED centers operating in the country. Shanti Foundation supports the ECD center to meet the minimum standards of physical infrastructure; human resource quality; and drinking water and sanitation.

TRAINING TO TEACHER 
As per the new requirement introduced under the School Sector Development Program (SSDP) (2016–2021), new ECED facilitators must have a minimum grade 10 qualification. According to the 2017-2018 Flash Report, 38.6 percent of facilitators have beyond minimum qualification, 54.9 percent have the minimum qualification and only 6.4 percent are under minimum qualification.
Shanti Foundation has been providing one-month intensive training and refresher training to ECED/PPE facilitators according to one of the key quality interventions to ensure teaching quality introduced under the SSDP to provide.


 
 
LEAVING NO ONE BEHIND 
 
Encouraging children living with and affected by HIV to grow up healthily and happily.

The “Leaving no one behind” education sponsorship was started in 2019. Every year, children living with and affected by HIV are provided sponsorship for their education expenses which includes the cash and care support to ensure that no child is left behind because of their health status.
